The Dawn of the Days

by - February 07, 2011

So, I went to school for nothing. It may not be the first time anymore, but it still pisses me off. A trip to the mall might have fixed that today, though. Now, I'd like to insert parts of my Englcom assignment here. It's about Euphemisms. No worries, I'm not about to begin a language lecture. I'm just going to use to discuss how my days have been. Here it is.

In oral communication, there may be many times wherein there is a need for euphemisms. People might not want to appear inconsiderate or impolite when speaking to others. In a verbal conversation, the speaker is face-to-face with the recipient of his words. Therefore, one must be wary and disciplined especially on words being said because it is directed to a recipient who obviously has to hear it.

On the other hand, euphemisms might not exactly be a necessity in writing. The choice of words is completely up to the writer, and his audience may opt to read it or not. In writing, it is best that one may still freely express his ideas. I'd like to say that a classmate of mine who is such a feeler is now such an asshole. Sometimes, I just want to strangle him. I think he's gay. I'm also irritated at a friend of mine who is starting to become a prick. If I were uneducated, I'd gladly ask that (son of a) bitch to shut the fuck up. Lastly, one prof of mine is extremely boring that I can die. Yes, I can die.

Hell weeks come and go, and I get fucked up when it comes. Midterms are coming up, and I'm torn between wanting them to come faster or not to come just yet. Some exams are just like those that you'd want to flush down the toilet bowl. Then again, no one wants their grades down the drain. Damning, isn't it?

The way the statements are judged is completely dependent on the person. Hence, in general, euphemisms are essential in language because as you can see, I'm not about to tell all of these things to a friend while using all the exact same terms. Needless to say, I don't think anyone would. Will you?
